ABOUT THE ROLE
The Program Development Associate works independently and in close collaboration with University Relations to build strong relationships with university partners and develop compelling, value-added proposals for faculty-led international programs. This role is central to Southbridge Access' business development strategy, helping us expand our presence as a travel provider across existing and new markets.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
1) Proposal Development & Itinerary Design
- Develop a deep understanding of Southbridge Access' destinations, program portfolio, and service offerings.
- Create formal itineraries and internal RFQs in response to incoming requests from university partners.
- Craft creative, value-added proposals tailored to each client's academic objectives across Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and beyond.
- Review and finalize cost sheets in coordination with the Costing team to deliver accurate, competitive pricing
2) Partner & Destination Research
- Research and identify new prospective business, government, and NGO partner organizations in destination countries.
- Build a pipeline of services and features to enrich and customize program itineraries.
- Client Support & Communication.
- Support University Relations throughout the proposal stage, ensuring smooth and responsive communication with faculty and program directors.
- In select cases, serve as the direct point of contact with university clients from proposal through contracting.
- Present Southbridge Access' services on all relevant occasions, identifying new business opportunities.
3) Operations & Administration
- Process client contracts and track for signature once programs are won.
- Maintain and update CRM (HubSpot) with lead and proposal details throughout the sales cycle.
- Support smooth handoff to Operations and Program Management teams upon program confirmation
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, International Education, Tourism, or a related research-focused field.
- 1.5–2 years of experience in business development, consulting, account management, research, education, or tourism.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C2 level, ideally certified).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Comfortable working in a fully remote, internationally distributed team.
Preferred:
- Experience in international education or study abroad programming.
- Familiarity with HubSpot (or other CRM), Monday.com, Travefy, and Canva.
- Experience in a startup or fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Additional language skills relevant to program destinations
